This Data Might Make You Hope-Pilled
It's tough to overstate how thoroughly the courts are beating back the Trump regime
This morning I filled out an online survey purporting to evaluate exactly how woke I am, and while I'm not entirely upset about the results – my closest political comp is Vibes King Zohran Mamdani – I was grumpy about one particular survey result.
The survey, in all its unknowable wisdom, said I was only 56 percent hope-pilled. My doomer rating was 44 percent. What the fuck, I thought. Doesn't think random online survey know I am the author of the most hope-pilled book of the Trump era, After The Great Redo? (you can check out the book on BookShop.org or Amazon or Books-a-million)

Show some goddamn respect, I thought. I'm a leading delusional shitlib who offered both data-centric and anecdotal reasons for folks on Bluesky to get excited about the 2024 election. Not having learned my lesson, I continue to blog about dangerously hope-pilled numbers for the upcoming 2026 midterms.
The doomers hate me more than they hate the largest protest movement in American history.
I'm trying not to take the survey results personally. And I'm not mad about folks in the Bad Faith Times discord scoring higher in the hope-pilling category. Please stop calling the Newspaper and telling them I'm upset. I'm laughing, actually. I find this funny. You can quote me on that.
