BFT Podcast: America's Leading Monarchist Seems Unwell
Curtis Yarvin refuses to say what he means.
Curtis Yarvin is the One Who Was Promised for those on the American right dedicated to operating in undiluted bad faith as a means of unraveling American democracy.
He's also the most irksome, unpleasant man alive today.
Yarvin has argued that Trump has every right to rule the United States as its first king because FDR did so nearly a hundred years ago. He says democracy has run its course and that the country has no choice but to dissolve its democratic institutions and allow one unelected, unaccountable man to rule the nation – presumably with an iron first, though Yarvin never says that explicitly for fear of alienating people who might one day back his monarchal cause.

Everything Yarvin does is in bad faith. It's why I felt compelled to do a BFT podcast about Yarvin and some of the revelations from The New Yorker profile on Yarvin, who – as I say on today's podcast – won't be honest with us. The man seems deeply unwell. And more than anything, he needs to log the fuck off.
